Ten Years of Spark. Ten Years of Impact.
Dear Spark Community,
In 2015, Spark SF Public Schools was founded on a simple idea: when a city invests in its public schools, students thrive, families are strong, and all of San Francisco prospers.
And by “city,” we mean all of us: neighbors, families, educators, philanthropists, civic leaders, and businesses. Strong public schools are essential to the social and economic fabric of San Francisco, for every one of us, and the responsibility to support them belongs to all of us.
Today, I’m proud to share our 10-Year Anniversary FY24-25 Annual Report, highlighting what sustained investment in SFUSD students has made possible.
Over the past decade, Spark and our community of nearly 4,500 supporters have invested $154.3 million in San Francisco public schools, supporting initiatives that strengthen teaching and learning, uplift equity, and help schools meet the needs of the whole child.
In the past year alone, our community helped mobilize $16.3 million to support SFUSD priorities, with 96 cents of every dollar going directly to programs serving students and educators.
The report also highlights the impact achieved by the individuals and partners who have stayed the course over the past decade: supporting San Francisco’s public schools with persistence, generosity, and belief in the fundamental promise of our public school system, even through moments of complexity and challenge.
Together, their commitment shows what is possible through sustained investment and true partnership between philanthropy and public education.
Thank you for being part of this work. Today we celebrate the real impact on students’ lives we have helped support. Tomorrow, we get back to work — together.
With gratitude,
Ginny FangPresident, Spark SF Public Schools
