Not-So-Fast Fashion in Action with Levi’s Innovation Lab

On Saturday, January 24th, 50 San Francisco high school students (out of over 200 applicants) gathered at Levis Eureka Innovation Lab for an inspiring hands-on workshop - the local launch of the Levi's® Wear Longer Project - learning to repair, refresh, and reimagine their clothes!

From threading needles to patching denim, students learned foundational repair techniques from Levi's top designers — proving Gen Z is ready to slow down fast fashion and make sustainability their own.

A huge thank you to Alexis Bechtol, Director of Community Affairs at Levi's, for championing this initiative and Discovery Education for bringing this opportunity to life for our San Francisco students, an example of Spark’s commitment to bridging the best of San Francisco’s opportunities into our public schools.

Golden State Warriors and Ross hold Reading Rally at Sheridan Elementary

Kicking off a semester long Read To Achieve series of events throughout San Francisco and Oakland, the Golden State Warriors and Ross showed up with swag and stories at Sheridan Elementary in the Oceanview Merced Ingleside District.

Warriors legend Adonal Foyle engaged students about the impact of reading on his life and career, and read from his own children’s book Too-Tall Foyle Finds His Game. Sheridan students received books, reading lights and plenty of Warriors swag.

Thank you to our partners at Golden State Community Foundation, Ross and Sheridan ES Principal Dina Edwards.
