You’re officially part of a growing citywide movement to support SFUSD students.
When students feel seen, supported, and connected—they’re more likely to show up to school. And now, thanks to you, we’re one step closer to making that a citywide reality.

What is Be Here ?
Be Here! is a citywide movement powered by Spark SF Public Schools in partnership with SFUSD to create a culture of belonging for all of SFUSD: educators, students, and families. Be Here! calls on businesses, community partners, and civic leaders to participate and spread the word.
Attendance ensures student success–which builds both academic and “soft skills” that our future workforce needs. This campaign supports students every single day by showing up as a city that cares about their growth and potential.
Together, we’re saying: Let’s show up for our students and our future.
Why Attendance Matters
When students feel connected, supported, and seen, they’re more likely to show up—and thrive. However, too many students are missing out on school. It’s up to businesses, community partners, and civic leaders like you to help us spread the word and make a difference.
In SFUSD, chronic absence cuts across every grade level—from Pre-K to high school—and with it, students lose vital learning time, social connection, and long-term opportunity.
Every student who shows up today is shaping the San Francisco of tomorrow.
Quick Facts:
28% of SFUSD students missed too much school last year (that's called “chronic absenteeism”).
Kids in elementary school miss just as much school as kids in high school.
Students who attend more are more likely to meet math and reading benchmarks.
