A Gift for 6000 SFUSD Teachers

Today, nearly 6,000 SFUSD educators are receiving a surprise in their inbox: a $250 gift — no strings attached — from an anonymous San Francisco donor who wanted them to feel seen and appreciated.
The donor, a tech industry professional, put it simply: "I'm kind of aware of how hard it is to be a teacher. Hopefully they will feel seen and appreciated. That's my goal here."
This $1.6 million act of generosity is a powerful reminder of what's possible when our city shows up for the people who show up for our kids every single day.
We're grateful to the donor for their trust in us to make this happen, and to The San Francisco Chronicle and Jill Tucker for helping us tell this story.
“There’s so much abundance in our city,” Ginny Fang said, “There is no better time to support and give to San Francisco public schools than right now…
And there are so many specific needs waiting for donors who might feel a connection to them.”
If this inspires you to invest in SF's public schools — whether it's $50 for a student's sports gear or something bigger — it all makes a difference. There is no shortage of meaningful ways to give.
